As a DABBLER, you haven’t made the decision yet to focus on any specific area or transformation. You’re likely doing some research and trying to learn more about the “how-to’s” of getting your message out into the world. You may even be collecting training programs and/or tools to make it happen. You may be in a situation where you know a little about a lot of things but not at the depth to be considered an EXPERT or INFLUENCER as yet. That’s OK, we all start here.

At this stage, the most important thing is simply to make a decision. A decision of get focused and that you want to be in this space. As a DABBLER, you’ve tried lots of things and it’s time to find that “one” thing that is innately you based on your journey, experience, education and expertise and go deep on it. This will be the beginning of your journey to INFLUENCER.

Using processes and tools like The Turning Point Advantage and Movie of Your Life will help to extract the unique thread of expertise and perspective that runs through all you do. For now, you can start by documenting some of the key roles you’ve had throughout your life and what skills you’ve brought to them and developed through them.

List them out. Look for the commonality in all of them. Look for that which is uniquely you. HINT: you might find it in some of your worst moments. :-)   Just saying – often our expertise is shaped through our mistakes.

The big word here is DECISION!
